サンプルセンテンス

The heaviest downpour I've every experienced happened while I was on vacation in Tateshina a few years ago. It was a beautiful summer day so we decided to go for a hike. I was with my wife and three young kids. We found a nice trail and off we went. The trail was a little muddy because it had been raining on and off for the past couple of days, but the scenery was wonderful. About mid-afternoon, it started to sprinkle. It was kind of weird because the sun was still shining and the sky was clear for the most part. Steadily, the rain got heavier and heavier and soon it was pouring. We didn't have umbrellas with us, so we tried to take shelter under the trees. It didn't really help. We were a couple of kilometres away from any real shelter and before long we were all totally soaked. Luckily it was warm enough, so it didn't feel all that bad. In fact, my kids loved it and were skipping along without a care in the world. It's funny. I also felt a kind of liberation when I gave up worrying about trying to stay dry. We all felt very close to nature that day.
