Dear Diary,
Today I bought my first car. It came as a total surprise, because I really wasn't looking for one. This morning, I got a phone call from my friend Gary. Gary is a mechanic. He told me that one of his customers had a car that he wanted to get rid of. It was a 1972 Datsun 510. The costumer had already spent a lot of money on it, but didn't think it was worth it anymore. I went down to where Gary worked and had a look at the car. It looked like it was in great condition. At lunchtime, Gary had a good look at the engine and thought the car still had a lot of life left in it. The best part of the whole situation was that the costumer only wanted $300.00 dollars. An unbelievable deal!!! I told the costumer I'd take it, and hopped on the bus to go down to the bank and withdraw enough money to pay for it. By dinnertime, I was driving home in my very first car. It's parked on the street right now. I'm so happy I can't sleep. What a great day!
