'30 years after death, the 'King' still rocks ' (2007年8月18日版 P20)

エルビスプレスリーの死後30周年でも伝説は死なず。 世界的に今だ愛されているロックスターの話です。

Teacher's review

It's hard to believe it's been 30 years since Elvis died. I still remember the day it happened. I was playing basketball on my neighbor's driveway. My friend's sister came out of the house and told us. Everyone talked about it for days. I was only 13 years old and didn't understand why everyone made such a big deal of it. Now I know. Without Elvis, we might not have rock 'n' roll. He brought rock 'n' roll to the masses. Many say he represents 'the American dream'. Starting with almost nothing, he came to be one of the most successful performers in the world. Although he had his share of problems later in life, he obviously inspired a lot of people to follow their dreams. Long live the king.
